During his keynote speech at MWC today Eric Schimdt mentioned that the Android Market is now up to 150,000 apps.  This is a tremendous growth considering it has nearly tripled in the past 9 months, and with the continued growth of Android as a platform you can expect to see that number climb and climb for months to come.  While we continue to see tremendous growth in apps, the really good thing is that these new apps seem to be of high quality, it is fine and dandy to have 300,000+ apps but if they are all useless fart noises or things that will not benefit you on a daily basis, is it really a good thing?

With all the new activations we are seeing on the Android platform developers are starting to see that Android is the way to go!  Within the next year I wouldn’t be surprised if the Android Market leads the pack in sheer numbers.
