[REVIEW] Software Data Cable by Proid Mobile, Inc.

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I use and how useful this app truly is.  My good friend needed a file off my phone for his phone.  We had issues with several methods of transfer (bluetooth, MMS and USB).  I realized I had this awesome app.  I was able to transfer my file to his pc using FTP and he was able to get the file on his phone via the same.  Lets take a look at some of the benefits and features of this app.

Software Data Cable uses your current wifi signal to allow file transfers from PC to storage card on phone.  So what are the benefits to this?  Well the best one is the fewer cables to carry the better.  The computer doesn’t need to have drivers it does need installed in it.

How does it work?  When you first start the service you will be given the IP and port number needed to connect to the phone via FTP this you just enter into your PC explorer and press enter.  The PC will search that IP and port and show you the contents of your SD Card on your phone.

I bought an Android for the capabilities of the phone, this application is certainly no exception, but a well added addition to my phone.  Complex enough to be effective and simple enough it doesn’t need a 2 inch thick manual.

Settings are important for me.  I don’t like using apps that are not able to be made to my specs.  Now, when I say settings and specs, I am not looking for an app that I can change every aspect of it.  Software Data Cable has enough setting options to make me happy and the settings are useful and useful to the app, not like other apps that have a ton of settings and none are relevant.

If your like me you use your phone minutely being able to do things on the fly is essential.  I am hooked on this app and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who transfers files even if it is to thier own PC.  You can pick up the app in the Market here.  You can also visit the developers website here.
