LG Esteem OneClickRoot NOW READY!!

Here we are folks, you can ROOT as needed!  We’ve been waiting a while for this one.  Without further ado…..let’s root this thing!!

My MetroPCS contact “Mr. MetroPCS” says there are a couple people we owe a big thanks to.  @Mtmichaelson and @djrbliss.  They together compiled the correct SU and Superuser.apk and wrote the final script for the rooting process.

Hit the break to get everything you need!

First things first:  Your device must be in USB Debugging mode. To turn it on, go to Settings > Applications > Development and check the box. Note that you can only select this while the phone is unplugged.

WINDOWS Users:  Download the LG Drivers here

After installing the USB drivers connect the phone to the PC.
Pull down the notification bar at the top of the phones screen and click on USB Connected.
Set the phone to Internet Connection mode.

Download LG_Esteem_Root.zip

Unpack and open run.bat

    Ok, when I follow the directions, it says daemon not running, then daemon started successfully. Then it hangs. What do I do from that part on?

    There was a firmware update that happened, it may have fixed that problem. It will require you to reroot though.

    As of now there is no CWM for this device. Again, I have not tried it, but have been told; ou can delete SuperUser and wipe phone to unroot shold something happen. You should always keep in mind that rooting your phone WILL void your warranty though.

    I would suggest trying it again. I have heard reports of this happening but have not seen or heard anything related to a fix.

    I should say what is happening. I try to open run.bat, and the batch window opens, and I get errors stating that “adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file”. Help?

    i had this problem when I ran the .bat from within winrar, but extracted to a folder it starts the daemon successfully.

    I get one of two results: if I run the .bat from within a zip/rar program, I get the adb not recognized error. If I extract it all to a folder, I get that the daemon has started successfully. Then it hangs for an indeterminate time. Huh. Am I not waiting long enough, or do I maybe have the wrong drivers? It”s a metro lg esteem

    hey, i would like to UNROOT it and i tried restore factory setting and it didn’t work, i have the lg esteem, i have to go to the corporate store and have to get rid of superuser asap

    In addition to setting the debug mode in accordance with the instructions above, you need to check the box in the Unknown sources section of the Application settings, which allows installation of non Market programs. Then hook up and the program will run beyond daemon started message. After installing the program and being told it was successfully installed. My phone still shows that it isn’t rooted… Bummer.

    You have to delete Superuser and then do a factory restore.

    I downloaded both programs for the pc and the phone, I have an lg esteem from metro pcs, but when I plug the usb cable from the phone to the computer, it only charges the phone with the computer power, but it won’t read or even show up on my laptop?????? anyone PLEASE HELP!! I need this hotspot

    wow. this worked perfectly and was so damn easy. I spent hours trying to find the ReAl way to root my LG Optimus S and only after hours of messing around did it finally work, this however rooted my LG Marquee in less that 2 minutes. damn good job to whoever the master mind was that figured this shit out!!

    i bricked my phone and the only way iwas able to unbrick was to go to lg.com and update your phone,but once you update ive not been able to reroot
