LG Esteem OneClickRoot NOW READY!!

Here we are folks, you can ROOT as needed!  We’ve been waiting a while for this one.  Without further ado…..let’s root this thing!!

My MetroPCS contact “Mr. MetroPCS” says there are a couple people we owe a big thanks to.  @Mtmichaelson and @djrbliss.  They together compiled the correct SU and Superuser.apk and wrote the final script for the rooting process.

Hit the break to get everything you need!

First things first:  Your device must be in USB Debugging mode. To turn it on, go to Settings > Applications > Development and check the box. Note that you can only select this while the phone is unplugged.

WINDOWS Users:  Download the LG Drivers here

After installing the USB drivers connect the phone to the PC.
Pull down the notification bar at the top of the phones screen and click on USB Connected.
Set the phone to Internet Connection mode.

Download LG_Esteem_Root.zip

Unpack and open run.bat

    Worked splendidly on the second shot, after jiggling the USB-to-PC cable out and in once! Two days of hackery into it, this lifted my spirits. Awe inspiring. I did a LG Enlighten branded Verizon. Before doing this technique, I tried the Droid SDK – related hack/root ((fail)), I tried the oldskool Z4 or whatever it is hack ((failed)) and rageagainstthecage hack ((fail)).
    THIS BABY WORKED!

    Yep this is the short speedbump I hurdled while doing this root hack. on the Enlighten, > check the box which enables ‘ASK EVERY TIME USB CONNECTS” and then you have 3 choices. You gotta go with “modem”. not storage, not charge.

    After reading and reading in order to find a solution to “data local tmp zergrush not found” and “no adb file/command found”, this zip hit the nail on the head. I ran it ONCE and I was rooted. I have a 64 bit system and the zip worked like a charm.Thank you so much.

    excellent! ok,, seems a few had same problem as me,, so hopefully this helps,, make sure your pc is set to autoplay when putting in a cd or plugging in a device, this can be done in the control panel if it isnt already,, FIRST, go to LG home site and download the driver file that says “all” for metro pcs driver. Install it.. Next. make sure your phone is in usb debugg mode BEFORE plugging into the computer. Once plugged in, allow your pc to auto run,, youll see and LG symbol in the autorun window.. click it, and let it install.. Next, safely remove hardware,,, then switch the phone to internet connect mode,, to do this,, simply drag down the top window on the phone and hit the selection that shows your plugged in, the screen that comes up will have charge only, mass storage, and internet connect mode,, switch to internet connect mode and allow the phone to install the drivers,,,SO a quick review,, you have installed the drivers from the LG website,, then you have installed the drivers from the auto run prompt the first time you plugged it in,, then youve safely removed hardware and disconected,, and switched to internet connect mode and again, allowed it to install drivers lol…. once youve done this the run.bat file should work as promised for the metro pcs lg esteem ;)

    Awesome thanx !!!! Just installed it on both mine and my wifes Boost LG Marquee… Had the same problems as everyone else at first.. just had to first download and install all the drivers to my PC from LG Mobile support website.. Thanks !!!

    UPDATE- ROOT LG MARQUEE WITH : SUPERoneCLICKROOT….
    set to charging only
    turn off usb debugging until u start super1clickRoot
    once the 1st 2 lines appear after clicking ‘root’
    you then turn us debugging on and the process will continue flawlessly!

    I LOVE YOU!!!!! So easy!!!!! So quick!!!!! I’ve been working for 1.5 days trying to recover a few photos I mistakenly deleted . . . and found the only way I could do it was by rooting my phone.     i have driver installed correct and the root still wont run correctly on my l55c.

    ok i have gone through my settings turned debugging mode on and allowed unknown apps.
    after that i installed the drivers to my computer. then i connected my phone via usb and pulled down the thingy ma bobber and clicked mass storage on cause the only 2 i could choose was charging only and mass storage. so ya then i dowloaded extracted and open the run thingy and it brought up the file page that said press enter to root your phone. so i pressed enter and it said server not running – daemon not running then another thing came up saying starting daemon – daemon started succesfully. then nothing happened on my desktop or on my phone it just didnt do anything. can some one help me out please if they know anything about the issue i am having. i would really like to get my phone rooted

    Okay I used this to root my Marquee… worked amazingly… THEN BOOST SENT MY PHONE AN UPDATE… I accepted the update then realized my phone is rooted and I might lose that… so I DID !!!! Now I need to know how to fix it…. I’m going crazy here trying to find something… PLEASE HELP!!!

    Worked well on Virgin Mobile Optimus Slider, but I had to download new driver from LG website:

    Before this I got hung at “waiting for device” Once installed and downloaded the driver above, it worked immediately.

    Set phone to “Charge Only” and ignore the “Set the phone to Internet Connection mode” step

    not working on my optimus slider. i get to the black screen, hit enter and it says “not recognizabe as inernal command” a bunch of times and my phone does nothing
