SnapDragon processors are widely known for use in the Android phone line, whether it be HTC, LG or otherwise.  They have now announced their new line of chips known as the “S4 SnapDragon”.  This new chip is a dual core with LTE integration baseband chip.  By combining the cores with the baseband chip this will reduce the foot print needed, ultimately leading to smaller and thinner devices and faster 4G wireless performance.

Hit the break for more info about the new chip.

The S4 line will also be able to support 3D capture as well as HD 3D video playback; augmented reality and gesture-based applications; and device-maker programmable digital signal processing to offer better quality audio.  As of right now, Qualcomm’s new chips are sampling device makers and we can expect the to hit shelves as early as 2012.  Their S4 line does come in different flavors, their highest end, the quad-core 8064, is expected to hit phones and tablets in Q3-4 of 2012.
