It seems that Android devices are out-dating themselves faster than we can report on them. Today we have a leaked render of what has been dubbed the HTC Zeta, a supposed quad-core device. While many consumers are just now getting ready to pick up their first dual-core device, manufacturers are already looking to the future and seeing what can be done.
Now remember that this is all rumor and speculation right now, so grain of salt people, but the render does show something completely new for HTC. The Zeta is rumored to have a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor as well as a 4.5″ 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 8MP rear shooter capable fo 1080p recording. The Zeta is also expected to have a 1.3MP front facing camera and will of course launch with Android 4.0.
Of course there is no time frame for this one other than 2012, and we are expecting to potentially see something really expecting from the manufacturers at CES this year. So could the HTC Zeta be the next big thing? Who even knows if this is the real deal or not, but you can bet that sometime in early 2012 we will start to see more and more quad-core rumors come from all the Android OEMs.
