Google+ now allows for nicknames to be used

One of the big challenges that Google+ faced when it was first released was that you had to use your real name to sign up.  Now this isn’t a huge deal for most people, but there are some out there that like to keep their true identity hidden for whatever reason.  Well Google has changed their mind on this one and now allow for nicknames to be used.

There were many people who simply did not sign up for Google+ because they were not allowed to use their nickname, or other established identity, that they have used to build up their “internet persona”.  With Google finally allowing for people to use their nickname in their Google+ profile, I am sure that many of those people may finally give Google+ a go.  Now of course Google is still monitoring the nicknames, and there are some rules, but it is nice to see that Google has now permitted this.
