Review: Qmadix Boostpac Quick Shot

If you have ever said the words “I hope my battery lasts till I…..” then this review is for you! It’s very frustrating when that happens. While most everyone carries a car charger not everyone carries a house charger on them – unless you are me (no judging!)

Once again we have the permanent solution to your temporary, albeit annoying problem. Qmadix BoostPac Quick Shot is there to your rescue!

We did a review for them not to long ago for the BoostPac Eclipse and I must say that the Quick Shot is just as great as the Eclipse – if not better in a pinch.

The Qmadix BoostPac Quick Shot is a 1000mAh battery pack. 1000mAh…really? Why so small? Well, the Quick Shot wasn’t meant to be an additional battery, an external battery or otherwise. It’s small size, compact design and collapsible plugs were only meant to be a quick charge until you can get to a permanent power source like a car charger or house charger.

Before I started the review test I found myself in that same situation where my battery was going dead and I was without my charger – fortunately I know Qmadix always ships their battery packs with a bit of charge. I opened the package, plugged it in and let the Quick Shot charge my phone. It was right then my test was over and I knew the Quick Shot was a MUST HAVE for everyone.
The technical features of this Quick Shot are similar to the Eclipse with Smart Technology to prevent over charging, the LED indicators to show estimated life remaining, and the dual use (iOS and Micro USB) connectors. What I did find incredibly useful were the collapsible connectors.

I have used other battery packs before and most of them have caps on the connectors to protect them….oops….I must have lost one during travels. Now the connector is fully exposed and that’s not a good thing. With the Quick Shot the connectors are, for all intents, hidden until needed. Not only are they hidden but a small door closes them in for added protection.
The Quick Shot, like the Eclipse, also comes with a USB cable for charging from a USB port on a computer or home USB charger or even a car charger. With the microUSB charge port on the Quick Shot you can use your current charger and put the USB cord in the old drawer. I would still like to see it come with a household charger. Again, maybe in later versions it will.
Lastly, the design of the Quick Shot is very good looking. It’s a very small box; 2″ x 1.4″ x 1″ (50 x 36 x 24.5 mm) to be exact. It is literally so small that it fits right in your pocket and you won’t even notice it. One thing I have learned from Qmadix products is that functionality doesn’t come second to design. Both are taken very seriously. After all, the first sense you use is your site when you buy. A mirrored top hides the 4 blue LEDs and the case is sonically sealed for a seamless appearance.
One thing that did have me concerned a bit was the fact that the connectors are made right to the Quick Shot, which means it attaches directly to your phone. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it to know that the connection is tight, but not so tight you have to use a ton of force to place it in. Also it weighs hardly anything so it’s not like your carrying a huge block on the side. With the connectors offset to the bottom of the Quick Shot, the phone and Quick shot can sit on a table without one hanging from the other causing possible damage.

I can’t say enough about the Quick Shot or Qmadix products. They are for real people with real

lives. It doesn’t matter if you have the biggest extended battery on the planet, this is a must have for you. You may not need it but once a week, however, when that time comes, you will be glad you have it.  To get yours go to Qmadix.com and pick one up!
