The Nexus Q, which was supposed to be a big hit at Google I/O, is being indefinitely delayed. The device is a spherical shaped media sharing unit that was said to need more work according to the New York Times.
Google wrote that it was
responding to “initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today,” though it added that “the industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm.”
The Nexus Q plugs into TV’s or speakers and plays music and movies from Google Play or YouTube. At a cost of $299 they felt it needed more work. Google declined to say when
a new Nexus Q would ship or provide details about what the changes would be. Those who pre-ordered the device will still receive the current version, free, Google said.
