With all the things we rely on our smartphones to do to keep us on track in our daily lives, there seems to be one glaring problem. Battery life. There is never enough of it. You always seem to run out when you need your device the most. What can be done about this problem? As I see it, there are two solutions. One being to carry a wall charger around with you everywhere you go. Two, find an extended battery for your device. Option two sounds a whole lot better. Who wants to carry around a charger with them? I know I sure do not.
Mugen Power Batteries was kind enough to send us a 3600mAh battery for the HTC Amaze 4G to review. Follow me after the break to find out what I think about this extended battery.
The Battery

This battery is huge! It comes with a replacement back cover for the Amaze 4G. I use NFC around my house to control different parts of my phone. Things such as turning on WiFi, turning off GPS, and the list goes on. Since the NFC antennas are built into the back cover of the device, using a replacement cover had me worried that I would loose NFC capabilities. Not the case. The replacement cover has NFC antennas built in. Crisis averted.
One other thing to note, this battery adds quite a bit of bulk and weight to the device. I would say it adds about an extra inch to the overall thickness of the device. The Amaze is an already heavy device by itself and becomes heavier when equipped with this extended battery.
For those not wanting to make the Amaze a Sherman tank, Mugen Power makes a smaller 1950mAh battery. With this battery you can use your stock battery door.
Overall Thoughts
The Mugen Power extended battery has completely changed my device. Now I can go through my day and not worry about running out of juice when I need my device the most. My typical usage paired with this battery allows me to get almost two full days on one single charge! Try getting that with your stock battery.
If you are a power, juice hungry user like myself, I suggest you pick up the Mugen
Power 3600mAh extended battery for yourself. You will be glad you did. You will even sleep better at night knowing your phone will have enough juice when you need it most. Head on over to Mugen’s website to pick up a battery for yourself.
