Jiayu G3 Smartphone Available For Pre Order

Jiayu has released thier new phone for preorder.  Up until now I had never even hear of this phone company but the specs of this phone are pretty nice considering the price of just over $250.  It’s one of the first phones to come with the MTK6577 1.0GHz Dual Core processor.  While the phone itself is run off 3G it has ICS on it.  Whether it’s a locked down ICS we don’t know for sure.  At this point we don’t know really anything about it except it seems to be a huge hit in Asia. Samsung Confirms Galaxy S3 64GB variant still on its way

There were rumors that Samsung might have canceled the 64GB variant of its 2012 flagship device the Samsung Galaxy S3. Folks over Android Central reached out Samsung for confirmation but Samsung denied it.  Here it is what Samsung  had to say:

The 64GB model of the GALAXY S III will be available during the second half of this year. The market availability and timing may vary and will be determined at the time of release.

This is a pretty scripted response and we aren’t real surprised.  This of course is ongoing and when we hear more we will let you know.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light now available on Play Store, exclusive to Xperia line.

image

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now available in the Google Play Store for  $1.29, which is quite low compared to other games. But there is a sad part, it is only available to Sony Xperia devices.  We hope it comes to other devices as well. I’ve always enjoyed Lara Croft games.  Have a Xperia device? Hit up the Play Store link down under and get going.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a fixed-camera 3D platform viewpoint action video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix for the PC, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and the iOS as part of the Tomb Raider series for digital download. Unlike previous games in the series, the game does not carry the Tomb Raider brand and has a heavy emphasis on cooperative gameplay. In multiplayer, players take the role as either Lara Croft or a 2,000-year-old Mayan warrior named Totec. They must work together in order to stop the evil spirit Xolotl and retrieve the Mirror of Smoke. A single-player campaign mode is available that does not include the non-playable character AI following or helping Lara.

Motorola Xoom’s Into Victory Lane

A German court on Tuesday ruled that Motorola Xoom made by Motorola Mobility Inc does not infringe on Apple’s iPads design patent. In addition, Motorola had claimed the iPad’s design patent was invalid which was denied too by the court.  The court rejected both the parties. Apple was required to pay two-thirds of the costs and Motorola had to pay one-third.

Last year Apple got the sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab in Germany and now is trying to fire down another competent by its cheap tricks.  What do you think about this? Are normal consumers affected by this?  Tell us what you think!

Jelly Bean’s ASLR Makes It Most Secure Android OS Yet

When I switched from Blackberry to Android, my main concern (aside form losing BBM) was security. I heard rumors, which I took with a grain of salt. But with ASLR, Android 4.1 is said to be the most secure OS from Google to date.  From what I gather, Google’s ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) works similar to an ever-changing IP, so to speak. It randomized the software’s memory layout in order to prevent those Trojan apps from grabbing onto your device. Pretty clever!  Are we on a new path in terms of software?  Maybe not.   But it is a step in the right direction.  Read more after the break.

[REVIEW] mTimeCard by Sirma Mobile

If you own and operate a small business with employees it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of every single one of them.  If your business is just starting up, hiring a manager for each site may not be feasible from the beginning.  mTimeCard.com contacted us to do a review on it and we were happy to help!  When I saw this app my very first thought was construction companies.  They have multiple sites with multiple employees.  Let’s not get it mistaken though – that was just my first thought.  Even AndroidNerds could use this.  Check out their video then hit the break for the rest of the review.
